To provide funding for educational programs targeted at HIV/AIDS prevention and/or the elimination of prejudice and discrimination against HIV/AIDS-affected individuals, and for programs that provide services to people living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation is making the transition to web-based applications for prospective grantees. Our new application process is available now here. In order to be considered for EJAF’s final round of 2008 grantmaking, application must be submitted by November 17, 2008. Today EJAF announced its second round of grants for calendar year 2008, totaling $3.112 million. Details here. This new funding brings EJAF’s total grant investments for 2008 to nearly $5.2 million to date.

As the International AIDS Conference quickly approaches, the Black AIDS Institute, an Elton John AIDS Foundation grantee focused exclusively on the impact of HIV/AIDS on black people in the US, has released a report, “Left Behind! Black America: A Neglected Priority in the Global AIDS Epidemic," that is drawing significant attention. Sir Elton John achieved a significant career milestone - he has performed in all 50 States of the Union by playing his first concert in the State of Vermont. In honor of this accomplishment, Ben & Jerry's has created a special custom ice cream flavor - Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road - and will be donating all profits from sales of the new flavor to EJAF.

EJAF was the beneficiary of One Mighty Weekend at Walt Disney World Studios in Orlando, FL. The weekend’s events included great performances by Mo’Nique and Taylor Dayne. As beneficiary, EJAF received $50,000 to support its grant-making initiatives.
